Alphabooks: P is for Peter Pettigrew!

I decided to post this weeks installment as a sorta process post…

When I pencil things out digitally I kind of just go fast and really loose. I pretty much just get a sketchy skeleton of the drawing to tighten up as I go.

Then I tighten everything up as I ink it. Nothing special there. Inking, on paper with a brush or digitally is my favorite part of drawing!
On this drawing I changed the line color for the hand after I inked it black like everything else. The wonders of computer magic!

Next is the basic flat colors. Again, nothing fancy, just some flatness. I also kind of clean things up a little at this point if it needs it.

Then it’s on to the shading. Because it makes it look fancier and slightly like I might know a thing of thing and a half.

Finally I put the background color in. Sometimes I do this earlier, other times I like to work out the main colors to see what works best.

….and there you have it.

About treebeerdy

I am a freelance artist that has been drawing comics for about half my life. I try to work in all mediums that I possibly can but love working with a brush and a bottle of ink. If you like what you see here and need an artist for something, drop me a line.
