So I have been in the hospital with my wife for 3 days now. Today she finally went in and had her ERCP and I am pleased to report that they removed the offending stone that was clogging her bile duct. She is already looking better and feeling a bit better. I have been worried and stressed so, obviously, when they took her for the procedure I was extra manic. The only thing I could do was try and draw or something. So I give you this Hellboy sketch:
I just finished up some coloring on it, still sitting in the hospital room.
We are not completely out of the woods yet though. They are making sure all of her various levels get back to normal over tonight and then we have to find out what they are going to do in the long term.
Turns out she has a cyst on her pancreas. Nothing dangerous from what they say, but until it “matures” they may not be able to remove her gall bladder. So basically we are waiting to see if this is a problem, or if it is just a matter of waiting it out until they can do something about it. It’s late and I may not be remembering everything right at the moment. That’s about the gist of it though.
Thank you to everyone who has sent along their kind words and worries. It means a lot to us and I will continue to update as time and/or info is available.
Trying to keep a good sense of humor during this is important. It helps keep me sane after being worried sick for the past three weeks. It is also good for my wife as it can only help distract her for tiny bits of time. That being said, turn to someone you love and make up a good poop joke.
