Started the day knocking out a quick commission. I posted a quick sketchbook drawing of Nosferatu via twitter yesterday that lead to this request. I decided to not go the cartoony route so much and try doing something a little different. Well, different for me anyways.

Murlocs. I love ’em. So, obviously I am a player of the World of Warcraft, even though I haven’t been able to play as much as I use to with various projects and so on taking up my time. I enjoy playing the game because I play it with good friends and we are so spread out it gives a chance to all “hang out” together.
M is for Murloc:
If you are unfamiliar with these little fellas, they are amphibious fish people of sorts that are found all over in the game. Can be rather annoying when having to deal with multiple of these critters at the same time. They have a rather distinctive sound they make that made me love them I think.

I just wanted to share the final version of a logo design I did for our friends who own the local comic shop, Arkham Comics. I did a really (poor) rough one years ago when they first opened with the intention of doing a final version. Well, 5 or so years later, here you go..
The idea was to represent the inspiration for the name of the shop. One part H.P. Lovecraft and one part Batman. There is another version I am tweaking that is probably more in line with t-shirts than anything but, this is the main logo.
I thought I would share another commission I have finished. Well, pretty much finished, I still need to clean up a couple lines and so on.
I actually haven’t worked on a big painting in a long time. Like 3 or 4 years long time. When this request came in it was for a western themed kinda thing with maybe some coyotes and the like. I got to looking up some photos for coyote references and was kind of thrown by the fact that the vast majority I found on that first day were of hunters posing with dead coyotes or the coyote dead with a rifle on the ground in front of it.
I mentioned this to the guy who wanted the painting done and, us both being animal loving dudes and vegetarians, the painting quickly turned into something better…

So I had a couple different ideas for my L creature but, the one I went with was basically the first idea I had. The Littles are from an 80’s Saturday morning cartoon that I am sure many of you remember. I liked the the show, though, I think part of the reason I watched it regularly was because where I lived it was one of the last cartoons before Godzilla movies at noon.
My favorite character was Dinky. He was goofy and to be honest, probably the most interesting thing on the show to me. So, I give you Dinky Little…
L is for Littles:
It’s funny, in hind site, I hadn’t considered that the Littles was a japanese produced show. The visual style is exactly that of other typical anime series that aired in the U.S. in that time period (Robotech, Thundercats, Transformers, etc..) seems I was always a fan of this style when I was a lad.
